Special Program Overview

STS offers special programs focused to give our students the advantage they need for the critical points in their education.

Accelerate your learning.

Accelerated Learning at STS STS offers accelerated courses in Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry, giving our students the edge in the classroom for the coming semester or term by preparing them ahead of time. STS accelerated course students study the material they will be facing further on in the year, so they can enter the day-school class with the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed. One of our most popular courses is the Grade 12 university preparation program, in which over 800 students enroll annually, choosing to study in either a 1 or 2 month summer program. 

Summer Camp.

Summer Camp programs The STS Summer Camp is an opportunity for our grade 1-9 students to shine through in Math and English. Each program is custom made for each student, starting with a pre-registration diagnostic test which enables our tutors to prepare both Math and English learning materials according to individual needs. The STS Summer Camp curriculum also offers classes in French, Science, Public Speaking, and History; ensuring students experience a fun environment while learning several new skills. 

Euclid Contest Course

Euclid Math Contest For students plan to write the Euclid Contest organized by the University of Waterloo, we suggest you to fully prepare for it with STS Euclid Contest Preparation Course. During the 6 lesson preparation course, our Principal, Mr. Paul Choi will personally teach Euclid Contest-style problems, illustrate examples based on previous contest questions and demonstrate techniques for handling challenging mathematics problems. Students will also be assigned past contests as assignments and are required to complete a mock exam at the end of the course. Students who excel in the Euclid content may be eligble for The University of Waterloo - Faculty of Mathematics scholarship . 

EQAO

EQAO - the Education Quality and Accountability Office - conducts province-wide assessments at the primary, junior and secondary levels to measure student achievement against curriculum expectations. The data are widely used as an additional tool to guide improvements in education at the individual, school and provincial levels www.eqao.com

EQAO 9 Assessment of Mathematics Preparation Course

The EQAO 9 Assessment of Mathematics will measure how well students are meeting the overall expectations of the mathematics level in the provincial curriculum up to the end of Grade 9.

Components of the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics include the following: Multiple Choice, Short Answers, Tasks and an Additional Component.

During our five weeks program, our course instructors will not only cover important Grade 9 mathematical concepts, but will also provide the techniques and methods to handle the challenging questions that appear specifically on this assessment. Students will also be given homework assignments with a similar format and structure to ensure complete understanding and confidence.

EQAO 10 Ontario Secondary School Literary Test (OSSLT) Preparation Course

The EQAO 10 Ontario Secondary School Literary Test (OSSLT) will measure how well students are meeting the reading and writing expectations across several subjects in the provincial curriculum up to the end of Grade 9. All students who are working towards a high school diploma will be required to participate in the Grade 10 test.

During our six weeks program, our course instructor will provide techniques and methods in handling reading and writing questions specifically on the assessment based on previous and sample materials. Students will also be given test-run assignments with similar formats and structure to the final OSSLT, with complete mock exams administered at the end of the course.
