Success Tutorial School is excited to announce that we will again be hosting a mathematics competition for our Grades 5 to 8 students this year!
WHO WILL BE COMPETING?
Grades 5 and 6 students (JUNIOR DIVISION) and Grades 7 and 8 students (ELEMENTARY DIVISION).
During the week of Sunday, March 31 to Saturday, April 6, 2019, students currently enrolled in a Grades 5 to 8 math class will be given 30 minutes at the end of their class to write a qualifying-round contest paper. This contest paper will replace the quiz for that week at all campuses (Scarborough, Markham, and Richmond Hill). Note that this takes place during regular class time (unless otherwise notified). Contest papers will be marked and the top runners will be selected as finalists to compete in the final competition.
Once the finalists have been chosen, they will move on to our Final Competition, which will take place at our Markham Campus (9418 Markham Rd, Unit C3. LOE ON1) on Sunday May 26, 2019. Refreshments and education-related seminars will be available for friends and family that attend the event.
Awards will be given to students who make it to the final round. All students are asked to come up with a fun, creative hashtag for the event (e.g. #STSMathRocks). You have a chance to win a prize if your idea is selected!
OTHER DROP-IN QUALIFYING ROUND DATES:
Can’t make it to your weekly math class during the qualifying round? Are you interested, but not a Grade 5-8 student taking math at Success Tutorial School? You can still participate! Sign up for one of our extra qualifying-round sessions: Wednesday, April 3rd 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Markham Campus / Thursday, April 4th 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Scarborough Campus / Friday, April 5th 6:00pm-6:30pm at Richmond Hill Campus. Please call the campus for assistance to sign up. Note that students writing the contest paper in their regular math class do not need to sign up.
We look forward to creating many fun and precious memories from this event! Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.
